The issue of sexual preference of the athletes is one that is not touched within the circles of analysis that are part of Puerto Rican sports. As in other areas of culture, sexuality remains a taboo for those who lead and participate in sports institutions. Unfortunately, there is a fear to highlight those issues and people who in one way or another have perspectives and identities that can be interpreted as transgressive "nature" heterosexual "masculine" that characterizes the sport as an idea, practice and institution.
